Solar Thermal Power

How Does Solar Thermal Power Work?

Solar thermal power generation use the power of the sun to heat a liquid to high temperatures.  The liquid is then circulated through pipes so that it can transfer its heat to water and produce steam. The steam can be converted into mechanical energy in a turbine, which powers a generator to produce electricity.  Solar thermal can also be used to provide hot water and heating directly.
