SREC’s Are the Key to Maryland’s Solar Market Growth

There has been substantial chatter about Governor Hogan’s recent veto of the Clean Energy Jobs – Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard Revisions bill (SB0921/HB1106) and its meaning for the health of the Maryland solar market.

SREC market weakness due to oversupply has been exacerbated by uncertainty around  whether the Maryland legislature will expand the state renewable market in step with increasing supply.  With the Maryland SREC market trading at all-time lows, the future remains unclear.
